Around 3,750 visitors from 44 countries attended the Arburg Technology Days, held from 11 to 13 March 2026 and focused on arburgSOLUTIONworld. The event took place at Arburg’s headquarters in Lossburg and brought together German and international customers. More than 40 machines were on display, along with practical applications, automation solutions, and digital and after-sales services, covering both standard and high-end technologies. The company presented its offering across the full value chain.
Visitors explored current and future developments in injection moulding, including the new electric Allrounder Trend. The programme also included areas dedicated to medical technology, sustainability, automation and turnkey solutions, as well as technical presentations, a service area and access to the assembly line for Trend machines. The event provided opportunities for networking and direct discussions with Arburg specialists and partners.
Once again, unique for the entire industry
“Presenting the wide range of solutions – the unique blend of technology, processes and services – all in one place makes the Arburg Technology Days the “home of injection moulding”, a showcase for plastics processing and a magnet for customers from all over the world”, summarised Juliane Hehl, Managing Partner Global Marketing and Business Development at Arburg. “Nowhere else is such a wealth of information concentrated in such a customer-focused way. We see ourselves as a highly reliable partner who cultivates the best possible business relationships over the long term. With us, everyone finds exactly the right answers to their individual injection moulding questions of today and tomorrow. We had many fruitful discussions and received substantive enquiries about our machines, services and solutions”.
“These Technology Days – adds Christoph Schumacher, Vice President Global Marketing – are a fixture in the trade fair calendars of our customers and prospective clients. The high level of commitment and customer focus shown by each and every one of us leaves an extremely positive overall impression. This makes a visit to the Technology Days an experience within and alongside the Arburg family”.
Hands-on experience: Allrounder Trend
Five exhibits of the electric Allrounder Trend showed how quick set-up and straightforward operation support efficient plastic part production. The new machines will be available worldwide from spring 2026, initially in four sizes with clamping forces from 500 to 2,000 kN. The applications presented included:
- Production of angled insulators for automotive wiring harnesses on an Allrounder 1000 e Trend.
• An automated Allrounder 1000 e Trend producing a USB cable winder (“Donut-ella”) from recycled PA sourced from fishing nets. The product won the “Pleiades” design competition at IUAV University of Venice, supported by Arburg together with partners Uniform and Ewikon.
• Manufacturing of reusable coffee cups from coffee grounds on an Allrounder 500 e Trend, using materials and tooling from the Danish start-up Grounded.
• A production cell based on an Allrounder 1800 e Trend producing around 9,200 LSR closures per hour with a 64-cavity mould and linear automation.
• The Gestica lite control system, designed for simple and intuitive operation, was also presented.
Automation and turnkey solutions
Automation and turnkey systems were a central theme, reflecting increasing pressure from labour costs and skills shortages. Arburg presented several examples of customised solutions across the value chain, from concept to finished product.
One example was a turnkey system based on a vertical Allrounder 475 V producing covers for radio keys. The process combined overmoulding with recycled PC/ABS and in-mould decoration (IMD). Handling and post-processing were carried out by a six-axis Kuka robot integrated into the machine control system.
Medical applications and clean room solutions
A dedicated “Medical Corner” focused on applications for the medical sector, presenting stand-alone systems, solutions connected to clean rooms and production directly within clean room environments:
- A turnkey system for injector pens (“NextGen Medical Solution”) based on an Allrounder 570 A in clean room version, developed with several partners including Hack Formenbau, Hack Digital Solutions and HB-Therm.
• An Allrounder 370 A demonstrating production in an ISO Class 7 clean room, with a scalable dual-cavity mould from Fostag.
• An Allrounder 520 A producing around 60,000 needle caps per hour, transferred into a clean room via an enclosed conveyor system.
• A hydraulic Allrounder 520 S producing a microfluidic component from PVC.
• A micro-injection application on an Allrounder 270 A producing four micro-filters (0.004 g each) with a shot weight of 0.016 g.
Additional areas and services
Visitors also explored digital services and software solutions, including the Gestica lite control system, the ALS manufacturing execution system and the arburgXworld customer portal. These tools support production monitoring and process optimisation.
The arburgGREENworld area focused on the use of recycled and alternative materials, as well as resource efficiency and circular economy approaches.
Application Technology services included process optimisation, troubleshooting and on-site consulting. The service area covered support across the machine lifecycle, including maintenance, predictive services, training and used machine programmes.
Technical presentations and factory tours complemented the exhibition, offering insights into injection moulding processes, digital manufacturing and the production of the Allrounder Trend machines.
